about us
We're an extended family who collectively own and manage all of the businesses on the grounds of Blueberry Point. Our great-grandparents discovered the property in the 1940s and decided to build their dream home with the hope that future generations would fall in love with it the way they did. They dubbed it "Blueberry Point" in honor of the blueberries that grow wild here. We'd love to share it with you!
the big houseInspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, they designed the six-bedroom home (now called the "Big House") using modern lines, rich wood, as well as reclaimed materials and expanses of glass to blur the boundaries of indoor and outdoor spaces.
The result is a unique home literally carved into the rocky New Jersey landscape, full of natural light and character. As we've worked to maintain the house over the last 50+ years, we have done so with the intent to preserve the integrity of their original vision. |
the farmsDid you know we also maintain a 10-acre choose-and-cut Tree Farm on the property? Bear Swamp Farm is open during the 3-4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, and we invite you to come back to cut your own NJ tree this season!
Third generation family member Allison Hosford and her husband Roger Knight also own Two Pond Farm, an organic vegetable farm, on an adjacent property. They sell farm-fresh eggs, wool, and organically grown meats year-round. We'd love for you to visit during your stay! |
